Mbappe sets new Champions League record ahead of Messi

Kylian Mbappe has set a new Champions League ahead of Lionel Messi, the young French forward has been in blistering form since he announced himself to European football.

The Paris Saint Germain forward has scored his 10th goal in the Champions League on Tuesday night despite being only 18 years old.

The former Monaco striker is the youngest player to attain that feat at 18 years old and 11months with the next closest challenger Karim Benzema nearly two years older.

Lionel Messi hit his 10th goal in the Champions League when he was 21, while Wayne Rooney holds the record for Premier League teams at the age of 22.

Although he scored his fourth goal of this year’s Champions League in just six matches, it was not a happy night for the youngster.

Paris Saint-Germain was defeated 3-1 by Bayern Munich, with a brace from Corentin Tolisso and a goal from Robert Lewandowski.

The French outfit top the group while Bayern Munich finished second.
