Jose Mourinho will have the backing of the board in January to bring in more players in order to challenge for the Premier League and the Champions League title, according to report.

The board is will back the Portuguese manager with a huge January transfer budget as The Sun claims Mourinho will have a £80m United transfer war-chest in January, it is understood.

The former Chelsea manager met with the Manchester United hierarchy to thrash out plans for the upcoming window transfer, Mourinho highlighted the need for new faces including a left-back, ring winger and creative midfielder.

An Old Trafford source said: “Jose met with some of the clubs top brass including Woodward last week and could have a pretty penny to spend. When the transfer window opens

“It sounds like some of the summer budgets is being advanced into January.”

Manchester United thrashed Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirate on Saturday and will entertain CSKA Moscow on Tuesday in Champion League.
