Clinton

Democrat Hillary Clinton swept through northeastern states after the 8 p.m. wave of polls closing Tuesday night — winning Delaware, New Jersey, Massachusetts, the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Republican nominee Donald Trump won Oklahoma, which is worth seven electoral college votes, and South Carolina, worth nine electoral votes. He also picked up Tennessee, with 11 electoral college votes.

That brought Clinton’s electoral college tally to 44 — compared to Trump’s 51 electoral votes.

Trump appeared to have a slight edge in the make-or-break state of Florida — but the state remained too close to call after its polls officially closed.
