A new video that suggests the abducted Chibok girls are still alive have just emerged.
CNN obtained the video which is believed to have been made last December as part of negotiations between the government and Boko Haram. It was released by someone keen to give the girls’ parents hope that some of their daughters are still alive, and to motivate the government to help release them, CNN reports. The girls, their hair covered and wearing long, flowing robes, line up against a dirty yellow wall. They show no obvious signs of maltreatment. The video had been seen by negotiators and some members of the government. But no one had shown the parents. Until now.
The video The video which was aired on the Cable News Network (CNN) show no fewer than 15 of the abducted girls, pictured above, confirming that they were the girls taken from Government Girls Secondary School (GSS) Chibok. Although they were guided during the interview, apparently by a Boko Haram member, CNN said they obtained the video through a close source to Boko Haram insurgents. The video was watched by the some parents of the girls who were seeing their children for the first time in two years.
